Thanks for your comment Forrest! I agree a lot of people don’t understand it. I worked as a youth counselor for many years and had youth that were “graffiti artists” many of them didn’t know why they were though when I first asked them. After listening to them and spending a year or two skateboarding and being a big brother to them I discovered many of their reasons behind it, they admitted it was more about respect and validation. I understand that it is art and a form of expression but do you really gain respect by disrespecting someone else’s private property? When I walk around downtown /midtown and I see “scribble scribble scribble” or a big penis smoking a joint scrawled across a window or beautiful old brick wall of a building or restaurant I don’t think art, I think juvenile, I think vandalism, and your right I don’t understand why someone think they have the right to deface something that is beautiful so they can feel validated. Fast forward 12 years now, two of my guys are now business owners who have been tagged. They still get pissed because they worked hard to get to where they are and replacing a window or painting the side of a delivery van takes food off their tables, keeps them from being able to pay their employees what they are really worth, and is a nuisance.

I dont think you have any idea what graff represents, a lot of the graff you see might be some kid trying to be cool. Graff is a strange art that most people dont understand. do some more research before you post stupid blogs about it.

Learned about your blog through the Bentnek Podcast, which I love. I have found it to be very entertaining, and informative on issues and concerts happening in the Boise, and Sacramento areas. I love Nek’s sense of humor, and the variety of new music that he puts on his show. It’s shows like his, and blogs like yours, that help people like me discover new places, and music, plus a good read. I will keep listening to Bentneks podcasts, and definitely book mark your blog! Nice The BentNek podcast is my favorite I’ve been listening since the beginning. He is always showcaseing sick sactown music including mine ShortFuze. I love the Adam Carolla show too. And one good one u might not of heard of is No Agenda with Adam Curry and John C Dovrak
